how bent is too bent?

When it comes to torque tubes, how bent is too bent? also, how much of a tolerance do they allow from the factory? thanks

Many new torque tubes are between .000 and .006.
Anything at .010 we suggest machining square and putting the tube with the bend going up and down. Basically turn the tube 90 degrees.(Always put the bend going up and down because side to side will cause the car to bind) You can machine up to .020 but the flange becomes thin and may bend. The best way to check is with V-Blocks. You can cheat a lathe. Scott Baue Leaders Edge 317-273-0655 |
