For some reason i still keep thinking about Roy Hiatt the track worker that lost his life at the little 500 and would like to help his family in some small way but i might need a little help..
I had never met the man and i was not at the race that night, but i rode around in one of the push trucks the wednesday night before and got a first hand look at how hectic the infield is at the racetrack. I remember reading his obit and the first thing it said is he died doing what he loved best!!! I hope when i leave this earth someday mine can say the same!!! It also said that the family needed help with funeral expences..I just lost my Mother a few weeks ago and it is insane all the fees it takes it takes to have a funeral.:crying: I wrote a note to send the family a check but never did, but i would like to maybe help them with some other peoples help in a bigger way.. This is my plan. I would like to donate a white helmet and get all the usac drivers at the track that night to sign it and then maybe have a raffle or something with all of the profits going to Roys family! I am sure you all have been to a track were all the drivers go into the stands to collect money for someone that needs it more then we do..That would be a good way to maybe help the family also. I cant wait to be there Thursday night:thumb TELL ME IF YOU THINK THIS MIGHT WORK? |

Sounds like a real nice gesture on your part. Can't think of a reason why people wouldn't help.
