Does anybody know where I can find the history of LPS? I'm writing a paper for my college class, and need to have some background information, but I can't find the information I need. Like when it was built, previous owners, etc. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance ![]() |

I'm anxious to hear some history about LPS. IMO the most awesome race track there is no matter who the owner or promoter throughout history. I turned my very first laps in a race car there hot lapping my Dad's midget in 1983 at 15 yrs. old and ever since then have chased that elusive victory there while finishing in every position but 1st. A few victories that got away. One night in 1996 as track co-announcer Dad came close to interviewing me in victory lane as we had a straightaway lead 17 laps into the feature until the magneto gave out, what an awesome victory lane scene that would have been. Ups & downs with seeing Dad breaking his neck in 1981 in a midget & him flipping into the woods in a sprint car. I'd love to get a ride & finally tame that place with a victory for my family & all the memories we have there throughout history.God bless LPS with a long lasting continued future for providing many memories like it has for my family and I.
