1:00 PM Weather Update – ALL SYSTEMS ARE A GO!
All systems are a go for tonight’s Midwest TQ Racing League event at the Shelby County Fairgrounds featuring the MTQRL three-quarter midgets and sidewinders. League officials have spoken with the Shelby County Fair Board and there has not been any rainfall at the fairgrounds today. In checking the radar and forecast Fair Board officials are confident that a negligible amount of precipitation is heading to the Shelbyville area and will have no adverse effects on track conditions. In fact, the fair board has begun watering the track in anticipation of tonight’s racing events. The pit gate will open at 4:00 pm and the grandstands at 5:00 pm. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm followed by practice at 6:00 pm, qualifications at 6:30 pm and racing at 7:30 pm. Additional events at the fairgrounds are still going on as planned including a flea market, beer tent, food and ice cream trailers, and fireworks at dusk. We hope everyone can make it out to the Shelby County Fairgrounds tonight for an enjoyable evening of racing and fireworks. ![]() www.mtqrl.com |

Great night of racing at Shelbyville. Watching Tate Martz
slice and dice his way from last to first was a thing of beauty. The 600 race also came down to a last lap pass, and Shelbyvilles fireworks were nice too. Great weather and great racing. Here's Tate ,family and crew after his fourth win of the season. ![]() IMG_0191 copy by uncloose1, on Flickr |

Helluva show.
Tate Martz had a problem in the trophy dash which would make him a no show in his heat. The result, he lost his time and had to start 19th in the feature. The feature was spent watching Martz slice through the field. A few laps from the end he passed Brett Hankins for the lead. Hankins was the man to beat the entire night. If this race didn't do it for you check your pulse. |
