As some of you know the Oval Nationals are just two nights this year at Perris and the Turkey Night Grand Prix is obviously on Thanksgiving (Thursday) one day.

Do you think more fans, drivers and teams would travel West if they could race an extra night (different track) during the weekend. About an hour away from Perris is a nice and racy 3/8 simi-banked track that is just getting restarted (with former CRA rookie of the year driver Scotty Burns the promoter, hope I got that right) in Victorville. Cary Fass has promoted a few high paying races in the past, and just recently the track hosted a double header of USAC west coast midgets and sprints with the new promoter. The event was well supported and received by both fans and teams.

There was a National Midget show scheduled for Las Vegas on the black top, but was cancelled probably due to Turkey Night being on dirt this year

What you guys think. Would more fans and teams come West if there was an extra sprint car race on a Sunday Night and/or extra midget race on a Friday or Saturday. Hopefully this could add extra butts in the seats, cars, back gate $ for Perris Auto Speedway too.

I've been to the Ovals a couple times when it was a 3 day race. 2 days isnt enough to justify the cost of flying out there for,at least not for me anyways.

Always wanted to come out for Turkey night, but again, just 1 or 2 races is not enough to justify the cost. If there were races on Friday night and Saturday night on Thanksgiving Day weekend,I'd probably come out. I wouldnt really have to use any vacation time to do so. Even better.I'd get to have Thanksgiving with my racing friends.Icing on the cake! (Or gravy on the stuffing perhaps)

For me the Oval Nationals is something I have to see at least once. I am planning on coming out in the coming years. If I could see a weekly race and the Nationals in the same weekend, it would make it all the better. Turkey night? I would watch it on dirt or asphalt, however, a 1100 dollar bill (give or take) isn't worth one race.

It would certainly make it more attractive if there were more races for the traveling fan. Cars? I dont know given the cost of travel for teams. Maybe so as its the end of the season.

I also think PAS should give you a discount on admission if you sing "You can get anything you want at Alices Restaurant" while buying a ticket for Turkey night.

Perris wouldn't give ya a discount if you brought Arlo to sing it for ya!

What may work to bring fans west would be a format somewhat like when the Manzanita race was one week end and Ascot the next. Maybe something the same but more compact.
The cool thing back then was you could go to Pheonix see some things, race then sight see In Los Angeles then race again.

Probably hard in this day and age for fans to get a week and a half off, or pay that much for that long of a stay.

Maybe something like Race Monday-Tuesday, Off Wednesday and Thursday, then Race Friday and Saturday.

Consecutive days of racing are the most attractive to me.Rather do that than just do a day or 2 here and there.

I was thinking of fans with kids and maybe bringing other families or friends....that aren't as dyed in the wool sprint car fans as some on here. LA is an excellent place to plan a racing vacation around. I was thinking like a special event at Ventura Mon Tues then Perris the rest of the week or Fri Sat. So you could do things in the day at various parts of town. The Los Angeles area is an excellent draw because there is so much to see and do.
