I am finishing up a vintage midget and have a question about pressure plates. I have more modern hex nuts I am running and they to have a 30 degree taper. I have original Halibrand pressure plates and the angle is between 35 and 50 degrees depending on which one you measure. I would like to machine my hex nuts to match the Halibrand taper but I am not sure what the original wing nut taper is. Anybody have an idea of what that taper is?
