Andy Baugh from Mason City, Illinois. He had a good run, going from 17th to 8th in 5 laps. The wheel stand started in the middle of the turn and he didn't even slow down. Some reports are that the throttle stuck.
Most of the time Andy runs 600s in Avon, Illinois. Until this point, he had a good showing against some really fast MOWA cars. |

I was there and that was the 1st thing I thought.
The driver, Andy Baugh, climbed out under his own power. Some crew members that were standing next to the fence were taken to the hospital. I don't know the extent of the injuries, but I heard they weren't severe. Hopefully someone who knows more than me can tell us more about their condition. |

I believe two were released immediately and I had heard that the 3rd person had broken a shoulder blade.
The car had totaled a truck that was parked all the way up against the fence. I truly believe if that truck wasn't parked there, the car would've gone completely through the fence and into the pits. The truck kinda pushed the car back on to the track. |

I was on the track at the time this happened. 2 of the guys got hit right in front of our truck. One guy had a severe broken shoulder in 3 places. The other guy came down to our trailer the next night at Jacksonville with his arm in a sling and he said his back was all cut up. It was the fencing cable that hit them. There was a 3rd person hit also, but I didn't here any more about it. I believe they were Critter Malone's pit crew.
