Please throw things at me easy

October 6 is the USAC Gold Crown, October 6, Poweri has a TV race?

Is this true? Is this a repeat thread ?

If this is the case looks like I can cancel my reservation at the Casino Queen(and the Gold Crown) and take that $ and plan a trip elsewhere (maybe Belleclaire). This would be a shame, someone tell me I have made a mistake, then delete this thread! There is no way that USAC can bring enough cars to the Gold Crown to make the trip worth while!

the initial schedule had powri on a different weekend, they moved their TV race to the same weekend as the gold crown. sure wish they would change the powri show back to the initial date they said. would make it a lot better for the fans and drivers. but sometimes i guess it's not about that.

The Gold Crown will not suffer at all with no POWRi help. Look at last years results. Powri had 13 cars there. Only 3 POWRi cars made the a-main on Saturday night.

The field was 55 midgets take 13 away and still a quality field with the best cars and drivers.

It will be just like midget week with ARDC support. And midget week sure didn't need POWRi help.

I hope that POWRI takes as much grief for this action as USAC does when it schedules against big events. The really crappy thing is this event was co-promoted for the first couple of years. It is obvious that not all of the problems with midget racing can be thrown at one sanctioning group. It looks like both groups are doing a good job of messing things up.

I know I have been on here expressing my displeasure about USAC for the last couple of days over some less than good choices they have made this year. However, the blame on this one falls with the POWRi. They had their races scheduled the weekend after and moved it up a week so their west series could have races in oklahoma the next weekend.

Something else to keep under you guys' hats is this. Kevin Gundaker at Tri-City Speedway was to have non sanctioned midgets with the USAC sprint show I believe on the 31st of August. Originally the POWRi was schedule at Du Quoin that weekend in the Southern Illinois Center. It was to be micros Friday and midgets/micros Saturday. As soon as it was discovered that Tri-City would have unsanctioned midgets on the Friday the POWRi decides to schedule the midgets at Friday at du quoin. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! Its pretty well known gundaker and brown don't get a long but seriously? Why can't promoters work together for the greater good of the racers and fans?

It would be awesome to see some tracks have unsanctioned midget races. I think it would be great for midget racing. Then someone tries and is shot down. Its a sad deal.

I do still say USAC has many problems, but the POWRi is causing this one and is not as squeaky clean as everyone says either.

The ideal thing would be for Powr I to move the race to Sunday afternoon so we could all have a chance to see them both. But it won't happen!

Mike, maybe something like that could yet happen, since there is alot of people voicing their displeasure about the whole mess.
Possibly cooler heads might reconsider the scheduling? Here's hoping
