Belleville & USAC sprints conflict

Just wondering if anyone has any idea which drivers will go to Belleville this year? With USAC running their midwest tour that whole week, it seems to me that Belleville is going to have a very low car count. What are guys like Darren Hagen & Bryan Clauson going to do. They have full time sprint car rides, but I would assume their midget car owners will want to run Belleville. Thanks.

How well certain guys do during sprint week could dictate where they race out there depending on points and their car owners wishes. This is going to hurt Belleville more than USAC I think. I wish Belleville would just move to the previous weekend. Maybe next year. If Hagen and Clauson choose to run Belleville that would open up some good sprint car rides. Should be interesting in a few weeks!

If Belleville wanted the USAC support they could have made it a USAC race. I believe the sanctioning body is the NCRA. How many cars do they bring? The worst case of not thinking of the fans is the little Belleville show against the Gold Crown. How does that help anybody. If your going to question one, have the guts to question them all.

NCRA doesn't sanction the Belleville event, they just run it for the fair board, so they won't "bring" any cars. There are probably only a half dozen midgets in the whole state, so Belleville depends solely on out-of-state teams. It's anyone's guess what this year will bring, with the USAC Sprint schedule being what it is; however, my "cup-is-half-full" thought is that the likely asbence of several top USAC midget drivers may encourage some teams who wouldn't normally run B'ville to give it a shot. Still, I would guess that Wilke, Kunz, BCI and others won't want to pass up a chance at a big payday, even if their regular drivers aren't available. I'm anticipating the car count will be about what it's been in recent years – 30 or so. But I'm thinking that without some of the regular Belleville frontrunners, it may be a more competitive event than many would guess. And don't forget that this year they're running Thursday night on the short track. Will that also encourage a broader participation? Only time will tell. Did I mention it's a big payday?

Speaking of Belleville, I still have one primo seat for Friday and Saturday. PM me if you're interested, or call me at 620.543.6484. Thanks.

Because Belleville allowed the lesser motor racers to have somewhere to go, those cars didn't effect tri city
