Photo thread: your thoughts?

I was wondering what folks thought about a permanant photo thread up top? A thread where oldtimers (and relative oldtimers like me) could post racing photos they took over the years. I have hundreds of photos I took growing up (USAC midgets, sprints, dirt champs, Indy cars, etc...) and I know of others who have a ton also. I love looking at people's racing photos from the past. Just wondered if anyone would be interested. Kinda something like the link below. A few photos and a brief description? Year, track, driver, etc...

I'm all for looking at oldie photos, but to make them all on one thread doesn't really seem right.

They've got a single thread posting going on over at brand-X right now that currently has over 400 photo posts, and it takes forever to get the thing load so that you can look at the last 2-3 new photos posted.

It's mainly due to people posting 2.0meg sized photos, when a 59K version is just as clear. Do that 20 times, and people are going to have to wait a LONNGGGGG time just to see the ones at the end.

My suggestion is to just start a new thread, title it "Photos of xxxxxx", and add your photos to it, and when the next guy wants to post more photos let him start a new thread too.

Or if you're concerned about possibly missing someone else's cool shots, ask Bill to create a new forum similar to the existing "Results", "Discussion", and "News" forums that we already have access to.

Just my thoughts.......

Joe, I'm most likely missing your point here, so bear with me. In the example above (the jalopy journal link) you can click on each page individually and it just loads that page's photos. Not the entire inventory of photos. Jumping from page to page in that thread is quick and easy. I was thinking along those lines.
Do you live in Arizona still? I have a bunch of photos from when I lived in Phoenix. I'm going to Victorville, Ca this weekend, any AZ guys going to race there? That would be cool. :Steer

Don't know the technology of it, but I think it is a great idea, however it is done. Thanks so much for thinking of us.
