For those of you heading to Oswego this weekend I thought I would share a few points of interest in the area other than the local racetracks in Oswego, Fulton and Brewerton.

Oswego of course is located on the shores of Lake Ontario, Fort Ontario over looks the lake on the east side of the city. There are several ways to enter the Fort with signs posted through out the city.

On the west side of the city H Lee White Marine Museum is located at 1 West 1st St., preserving and presenting the maritime history of the Oswego harbor.

Oswego Valley Railroad Museum is at 56 West 1st. St., this museum is decicated to the historic preservation of railroad history in the Oswego County area.

Some of my favorite places to eat in Oswego are Rudy's Lakeside Drive In Restaurant on the shores of Lake Ontario, mainly outside picnic table seating over looking the lake. Great place to view the sunset from on Friday night. Canal'e Restaurant at 156 West Utica St., a family run Italian restaurant. Press Box 29 East 1st St across from the Best Western Hotel is also an excellent place to eat, I believe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oswego Sub Shop at the corner of West 8th and Bridge St. (Rt 104) was Al Rooker's favorite place to eat when he attended Oswego State Univ., it is also where I go if I am in the mood for a sub. Stone's Candy a few blocks west of the sub shop on Bridge St. is a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth, candy, ice cream, shakes, rootbeer floats, they have it all.

Saturday afternoon The Old Timers Reunion will be held at Lighthouse Lanes on Shampine Dr., this event usually draws many of the former racers at Oswego Speedway back for a fun filled weekend. There are usually a number of antique race cars on hand to take pictures of.

Hope everyone enjoys there time in Oswego at the Big O and wish all the Must See Xtreme Sprint teams the best of luck.

Patti

If your going through Niagra Falls , go to Viola's on Military Drive ( could be road) for subs. They are the best for 600 miles in ANY direction from Indy.
