Did anybody hear the answers to the trivia questions asked at Haubstadt last night? I was there all the way through the modified feature, but didn't stay to hear the winner interviewed, so maybe they told the answers then. But, anyway, I am curios as to who has the most track championships at Haubstadt and who won the first MSCS race at Haubstadt.

This may or may not be what you are looking for. I wasn't at Haubstadt on Sunday night, but according to the MSCS website race results, Kevin Briscoe won the first MSCS feature at Tri State on June 20, 2004. It was the first of two features that night as they were rained out on 5/2/04 after a couple of laps. Bud Keading won the regularly scheduled feature later that evening.

The trivia question for the backstretch was Who has the most sprint car championships at Tri-State Speedway? The answer is Gary Hayhurst Jr. All i know is that a lady won the $50 gas card.
The trivia question on the Highway 41 side was Who won the VERY FIRST MSCS race held at Tri-State Speedway? The answer is Danny Holtsclaw on 8/11/2002. And some guy came up said the answer and as i gave him his certificate for his free carpet cleaner he said thanks and took off running. So i don't have any names of those lucky winners but hopefully this will help out. Racin Jason Adams |

Jason, I didn't see any race results on the website from earlier that 2004. Are they on there that I over looked them? If not, as a suggestion you might look into putting them on there for people who are interested in the history of the MSCS. Just a suggestion. Thanks.

I also thought that it was Gary Hayhurst Jr. and I thought of Danny Holtsclaw as they were lining up. I remembered Jason announcing that at the race two weeks ago. He also gave a clue that the winner was at the track last night, so that eliminated Kevin Briscoe. I could have been a winner on the backstretch question if I had been quick enough. But, I figured by the time I got down to the fence, they would have a winner.

Just to add a little to the trivia answers, Hayhurst was track champ in , 95, 96, 97, 98 officially, and was leading points in 99 when Haubstadt went to nonwing midseason, so he was basically an unofficial track champion that year. Holtzclaw was declared the winner of the first MSCS race there, but was second to take the checkered flag. Chris Gentry took the checkered, but was disqualified for cutting the infield tires, thus awarding Holtzclaw the win in a controversial night.
