Hello,
I am new to this board, I just wanted to post how good of a time my son and I had last night. We drove up from memphis to see this race for the 2nd time. I have to first say WOW what a great job Chase Scott did in the 51 car. After the race my son and I walked the pits to see the cars and while we were looking at the 51 car I noticed a guy we meet on our first trip to the nb4 the 500 when he worked for that years race winner Ron Gregory:thumb. He goes by "Chuy". He told us this deal all came together only on thursday when Chuck Gurney Jr got the call to run one of the 9 cars. This cat is quite and does not say too much.
He said that Jeff West the car owner called him and said he needed a driver. Chuy sugested chase Scott and what a great sugestion. He said they did it the hard way last night and jokingly told me they just wanted more time to work on race set up. He said it was one of the best cars around usac that Jeff West provided and they just struggled early to get the car to handle for Chase.
I would also like Cole Carter to know I thought He Ran the best race I have ever seen him run and to not give up!! Well thats it for my ramble

Now if only a car owner out there thought the same thing. This is a family team that he does all the work on and set-ups and all.

By looking at Qualifying I think he was the only car in the top 15 that didn't test.

Good job Cole.

I have come to dislike the midget races at IRP. THe fields seem to get strung out and the races are dull. I miss the early nineties when you had the top 5-8 cars running really close. It seems like when the reconfigured the track for NASCAR the midget races suffered. I understand that NASCAR pays the bills. Also, what is up with the PA system. No offense Pat, but it was way too loud. (I guess I am getting old but I thought the Van Halen show I went to recently was not loud enough).

I am glad others enjoyed but I doubt that I will go back for the NB4500 for a while.
