Possible $7,000 to Win! Road Warrior Modifieds

MT. ALTO, WV- The AMRA and Regional Modified drivers galore are lining up for what could be the biggest, richest AMRA Weekend in the history of the American Motor Racing Association. Some driver could win $7,000 in prize money with big pay days at Jackson County Speedway in Jackson, Ohio ($3,000 to win in the Modified Mayhem) on Friday, May 25; $2,000 to win at Thunder Mountain in Gilbert, WV, Saturday, May 26; and $2,000 to win at Midway Speedway, Sunday, May 27. The first two of this three race series are AMRA Road Warrior Challenge races, and while the Midway show is a cornerstone of the 3-day extravaganza, it will not render RWT points, but will be a sanctioned AMRA invitational.
Midway has long been a hot spot of area dirt track racing, featuring one of the biggest shows in the Midwest in the Jim Dunn Memorial for many years. The 3/8 mile speedplant has hosted numerous nationally recognized events both in Late Models and the open wheelers. The new promoters David Pryor and Phil Stallings hope to put a new face on the speedplant and combine that with the rich history of the facility. A general face lift and ongoing improvements will be taking place throughout the season along with the debut of an enthusiastic, dedicated crew and many new faces. Much hard work has gone into bringing Midway Speedway back to life. The track crew wishes to reward area fans and drivers with this special event to keep the momentum for a great 2012 racing season.
Jackson County has opened the season in a big way and has several new face lifts, while Thunder Mountain is a gem of a speedway located in trail country of the Appalachia's, delivering first class racing at a fast paced 3/8 mile speedplant. The Jackson County payout is unequalled in Southern Ohio and last year was one of the top modified shows in the Midwest with a purse of well over $10,000.

The second leg of the weekend will be set at Thunder Mountain Speedway, a new dirt race track that opened in the Spring of 2011. Heath Ellis, Owner of Thunder Mountain Speedway, LLC, opened the 4/10 mile dirt track located at Lizard Creek in Wyoming County, WV near the burgs of Gilbert and Hanover, WV. The third leg will be the $2,000 show at Midway this coming Sunday, May 27.

If you cannot make it to a Road Warrior Race this weekend, please visit a regularly scheduled AMRA event at out proud tracks listed below where racing is always close and at a premium. One of the big shows this weekend will include a two-day show at I-77 that features the World of Outlaw Late Models on Sunday. I-77 hosts a regular show on Saturday as part of the Ripley Racefest Weekend.

Octane Racing Products will be on board as a sponsor of AMRA in 2012 and will add $1000 to the AMRA National Points fund, again making the modified national points' $5000 to win. Octane will add contingency awards in random drawings at the banquet to racers displaying the Octane Racing Products decals.
