Our first trip to Macon but it certainly won't be our last. Reminds me a lot of Belle Clair Speedway with the grandstands on both sides and right up on the action. POWR I did their normal good job of running an efficient show.

With all of the midgets and micros in addition to the local stock cars, the track took a pretty good hit. I wished they could of re-worked it but with so many cars difficult without running a marathon event. A bunch of slide jobs and the feature was pretty much run up on the cushion.

Zach did a great job of managing his equipment and keep the rest at bay. We tried to stay and watch the micro feature but the track was toast by then and it started off with two quick yellows.

Sorry we missed ASQ and others from IOW. Hope to return later this year and see some more POWR I shows.

I think you must have been hiding in the turn 4 lounge, thats why you didnt see me!

I liked the 1st heat racing the best as Chett Gehrke started dead last, timed the start perfect, then started passing cars on the outside, and won the heat. I am a bit biased as I am Chetts only fan,but I like it when he has a good run,and it was a good drive from the back to the front.

There were a bunch of "wicked" sliders, and most of them not to pretty. A few resulted in some damage, and Bubba Altig slide jobbed his way out of a podium finish when his slider on leader Zach Daum came up a bit short, and he spun out.

Macon ranks a tick lower on my scale of midget racing compared to Little Belleville, perhaps as Little Belleville usually just has the midgets and 600s when they run there,at least every time I have been there. This Friday night will be different as they have other classes running. With just the 2 classes Little Belleville's surface is a bit more racy than Macon come their feature time.

It was still a prettty good night. 37 midgets and 47 600s,you cant complain about those car counts!
