You will learn on days like this early in the year that you leave a little later than normal, keep calling the track and be ready to turn around and go home. What time do the gates open? how early did you get there? Good luck this year.

I got there 11 min till the pit gate open... The noon update on track phone said they will race. It's a 2 hour drive for me... I did what I had to. It hasn't rained. Track was a little wet. But they knew this at 8am... So why cancelle just mins before the pit gates open? Not a big deal. Only a 130$ in fuel!!! But its my fault. I knew what kind of track north Vernon is before I ever left my driveway.

No use gettin your panties all in a wad, how long you lived in Indiana? It happens, and don't be blamin, and bad mouthin the race track, they were hopin to get this race in, I'm sure, but the weather never got off TDC, like it was "forecast", probably not many gonna make the pull anyway, with the temps not coming up, and the clouds not going away, chalk it up to experience, your racing career will see a lot of rainouts, or just plain "cancelled"! Good luck! Bob!

Put yourself in the promoters place. I honestly think most promoters have been doing a good job the last couple years calling races for weather or whatever. They realize with cost of gasoline if not near perfect conditions exists they will get hit in the pocket. And sometimes just plain old common sense can make a big difference.

I agree with the call. But do it at 8am. Not 15 min before pit gates open...

I understand cancelling but why wait until 2:40???.....it was pretty apparent at noon that the weather conditions were not going to change.

They should have realized that with the 5:00pm sign in deadline people would be heading to the track ealier than usual. Nothing quite like packing up and hooking up the trailer just to turn around 30 minutes later to unhook and unpack.

Hey, I know you are sprint fan why not go on over to Lawrenceburg? N.Vernon did sent a text note at 2:40. Lawrenceburg sent one at 2:14 they were racing , alittle down the road. Should have had 1st choice of Eldora,Paragon or Punamville would also be good racing!Hows JJ? hope to see you in the pits.

Wow. did you make that haul with out any stops? I kinda of feel sorry for the two hour haul people.

A couple of years ago we hooked up and drove to Waynesfield Ohio 5 hours for us when we got there it started snowing. Turned around the next year went back up there ran our heat and was in line for the dash for cash and the sky just opened up with rain for no reason. Racing is a true joy for me sometimes I just can't stand all the fun!

Get used to it Brad it don't get no better this, I guarantee it.

To be a race track promoter you gotta to be an Optimist.

Honest Dad himself
