I am guessing this will cause some of you some heartburn as you try to go to and from Lawrenceburg (when it opens) or Florence Speedway or who knows where else.....

Most of the ramps at the I-74/ I-275 interchange in western Hamilton County are closed after a semi struck the pillar of an overpass there.

Artimis reports that just before 7 p.m. a truck carrying an oversized load struck the overpass where southbound I-275 goes under I-74.

According to Artimis, the ramp from westbound I-74 to southbound I-275 (Exit 5) to the Airport, Kentucky and Indiana is closed.

The ramp from northbound I-275 to westbound I-74 (to Harrison and Indiana) is also closed.

Artimis also reports that eastbound I-74 is closed at I-275 – but that all traffic must exit to southbound I-275 (to Airport, Kentucky and Indiana). :headbang

That happened when a trailer came loose from a semi that had a locomotive on it. It crashed into the overpass pillars and took a couple of them out.

The local news says that you can still go straight through on 74 east or west, although I haven't been through there to confirm it yet. If it is true, then take 74 east to 75 south to Union exit for Florence, KY. You can take the Indiana route 1 exit from 74 to get to Lawrenceburg

Outbound: West 74 ramp to South 275 is closed due to an accident. This is the ramp that takes you to Lawrenceburg, Indiana and then to the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport. Traffic should continue on 74 to Dry Fork Rd, Exit 3. Exit at Dry Fork Rd. and re-enter East 74 to access South 275.

For those who are wondering this is east of Indiana State Route 1 and west of Ohio S. R. 128

From the Cincinnati Enquirer
"Eastbound motorists on I-74 are being diverted to southbound Interstate 275 to Kilby Road, sheriff’s officials said. From there, motorists can get right back onto the ramp from Kilby Road to northbound I-275 to eastbound I-74.

While I-74 westbound remains open, motorists cannot use the ramp to I-275 south. They can take the Ohio 128 exit onto Ohio 128 and then take U.S. 50 to Kilby Road, which will return them to I-275."

Getting to Lawrenceburg from In. shouldn't be a problem. I can't tell if the exit from 275 north to 74 west is closed or not. If it is, getting back will mean a detour at 128. I'll drive by tomorrow and check this out before the 31st.
That second detour, for 275 south from west bound 74, is a long detour. I think I would go to the next exit on 74 for harrison and get back on east bound 74.

You can just exit 74 east at route 1 and go south and take it to US 50 to Lawrenceburg. Turn right to get to the 'burg and turn left to get to 275 to go to KY.

Starting June 2nd, Rt. 1 will be closed for most of the summer.
Alt route would be to go to 275 or take state road 46 to 48 to 50.
When it rains it pours!!!
