Just wanted to let you all know that I stopped by the Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth Indiana to look at the dirt Bullring. The track is bigger than I thought it would be (About like Macon little longer straights). The corners are 65ft wide with 5 ft of banking and the straights are 50ft wide with 2 ft of banking. It sure will be nice to have a dirt track in northern Indiana that will be running Sprint & Midget specials both wing and non wing. I had a chance to speak to Eric Saunders when I was there. He use to race professional motocross for Tony Stewart, before becoming paralyzed August 28 2010. The kid has alot of awesome ideas, and loves dirt racing. He told me they got ideas from Emmett Hahn and Bob Sargent when building the track. Emmett says "Big tracks break race cars, Small tracks just bent them" Should put on some awesome shows. His Dad is Irish Saunders that has been at Hoosier Tire for years, so I know he has seen alot of racing over the years and has alot of friends in the industry to make the place good! Eric tells me that Smoke is coming there to run a 360 SOD race June 16th. Also the Earl Gaerte Classic 410 wing show Sept 1st. Their first non wing show will be May 5th along with UMP Mods and Hornets. Also for the 1st time ever the Plymouth Palooza USAC midget race will be Friday and Saturday July 6&7. Asphalt races Friday night with a Band/Party after, and Dirt races Saturday night. There will be free camping that weekend so Eric says come to a party were you will also see some racing!! He also told me, He and Travis Pastrana will be hosting the 1st ever Nitrocross Supercross/freestyle show Oct 6&7
