It seems like haulers and trailers are starting to come up missing all over the country these days, sometimes with cargo inside. I own a little "buy here pay here car lot". For a long time we had problems finding our cars when the people would forget that they still owed us money. The primary reason for buying a used car seems to be that you are getting fired from work, kicked out of your apartment, and devorced from all of your friends and relatives. We solved this problem by installing gps locators in all of our cars. When they stop paying, we go to the computer type in a comand and bingo there it is on the map, we turn it off and go out and bring it back home.
For the last few years I have also installed a gps in my tow truck and trailer. They aren't much but they are as good as I want to afford. In the trailer I installed a lawn mower battery back inside a cabinet and connected it to my break away brake system of the trailer and also to my gps unit installed in the fiberglass nose of the trailer. The tow vehicle keeps it charged up and it will run for a month until it needs another charge.
These things also have a geo fence on them. When you park the unit go on line and draw a circle arount the vehicle. If it moves out of this area it will instant message you on your cell phone, then depending weather or not you have your gun you can then follow it or report it to the police.
I placed an order this morning for more units with the starter interupt they are upward of $250.00. They do not charge any monthly or yearly fee's pretty much a one shot deal. I talked to the guy this morning and they have a stripped down one without the interupt for $200.00. If you tell him you are a racer and "Dad" turned you on to him he will give you my price. I buy them 20 at a time to get this price.
Call 1-800-675-1305 (he is on the west coast) ask for Brian and tell him Dad told you to call. I have been dealing with these people for almost 4 years now and they are good people to work with.
Every car owner / racer should have some type of GPS locator system on board their rig. I have one on my I-Pad and 4S as I'm sure most of you do, why not put one on something much more important. If I still had my hauler I would have one on it. Besides, during my day job as a police officer I know theses items get recovered. Even little items like phones have been successfully recovered.
I too have a smalll buy here pay here car lot and i have recently purchased some gps tracking units from Rocky Mountain Tracking these units are $175 for one and they have a break down if you buy more you can get them cheaper I know if you buy ten or more they are $149.00 a piece. You can get these units with the starter interupt as well for $25 more and this device is simple to hook up just two wires if you dont need the starter interupt. The unit is called smart tracker.
