Is LPS going to have a Summer Nationals date this year?

The most recent Hell Tour schedule I saw didn't have Lincoln Park listed. They are coming to Terre Haute though if that helps.

July 9th is still open. Always looked forward to seeing late models at LPS. I hope they decide to try it again.

Unfortunately they really didn't get very many cars the past two years. I went in 2010 and really enjoyed the show. Don't know how fans were in 2011. Probably didn't help on paying the purse. Excited to see how Terre Haute goes. Hopefully will be there.

Weeknight shows always present problems. Many fans won't attend especially if they have too many classes running. Late nights with kids in school won't help. If car count is down, then fans also won't be there since there favorite driver isn't. The life of the promoter is very slippery path. I enjoyed the LPS show last year but not surprised that they might not be back either.

There will be at least one support class even at THAT, probably more depending on who is going to do the promoting.
I've read where the mods are run with the dirt lates at every Summernational show. Something to do with a UMP modified series in conjunction with the Summernationals. I live within an hour of 4 Summernational sites and I haven't been to one in years. When this series started, and for many years after, a lot of tracks ran the dirt lates as a stand alone show. Now they run three and four support classes in addition to the dirt lates. As Mud Packer stated there are many who won't go to a mid week show for that very reason and it seems the promoters refuse to run the dirt lates feature first.

As a racer, being the only, or only 2 divisions is horrible. There isnt any time to get anything done between races. And heaven forbid you have a bad heat race, having to go thru the consi then get ready for the feature is nearly impossible.
It seems there are more and more people on these boards that all they want to do is leave the race track as soon as they get there. What is wrong with sitting and enjoying a 4 hour show? This isnt 1980 anymore. VERY seldom do tracks run past 11:30 without weather problems or multiple red flags. |

And for those of you dissing the modified class, I hate to break it to you but it is the class with the best car counts and the most competitive competition in the Midwest if not the entire country. They are sure to get a great field of cars with a lot of big names: Harrison, Schwartz, leka, and a lot more Posted via Mobile Device |
