One of southern Indiana's oldest and most colorful race driver's has passed away. Elmer Davis was 82 years old and had raced everything from go karts to sprint cars and Late models. He usually had a story to tell you about any and all of them. His most recent racing was done in the mini sprints with his son Paul.

RIP Elmer

Elmer was always fun to talk to and hang out with at the track! I never will forget running with his son Paul at Salem in 1996. It was both our rookie years in Mini-Sprints. I was 17 and Paul was in his 40s. It was a fun year and I always enjoyed seeing both of them at the races through the years after that.
My thoughts and prayers are with Paul and the entire Davis family! They are great people!
