The Illini Racing Series is excited to return to the famed Rockford Speedway on SUNDAY July 3rd for a special all OPEN WHEEL show with the winged 410 sprint cars.

Rockford was built with midget racing in mind and the series has put on some fiercely competitive events there. Several teams have Rockford area drivers and the fans support them well. It will be interesting to see just how fast those sprint cars lap the high banked 1/4 mile speedway. Someone called them "fighter jets in a gymnasium" in a race report last year.

The pit gates open at 3 PM with a first race at 7 PM. Take advantage of the Monday holiday and enjoy a SUNDAY night at Rockford Speedway.
