Who is in charge of providing a safety crew at an event..? Is it the track owner or the sanctioning body. I saw major carnage at a recent sprint car race,and they were lucky every one walked away.At no time did I see an offical looking crew.

Normally, the promoter is the one responsible for providing the ambulance(s) and the safety crew. Most sanctioning bodies have some wording in their contracts regarding the tracks' obligation to provide both the ambulance and fire protection. But most sanctioning bodies don't really check out exactly what the promoter provides.......
