The Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Vincennes University heads to the Rush County Fairgrounds on Saturday night June 4th for Round 3 of their 2011 season. In addition to three-quarter midget racing the Rouse Promotions FWD/Hornets and the Indiana AutoCross Series will also be competing.

Tate Martz, of Rushville, is the current point leader and defending MTQRL champion. Martz won the season opener May 14th at Shelbyville and finished second to Greenfield’s CJ Leary Saturday night at the Twin Cities Raceway Park. Rick Robinson (Columbus), Chris Mann (Waldron), Jason Willis (Lawrenceburg) and Jon Steed (Milroy) round out the top five in the standings.

Mann is the most recent winner at Rushville coming home victorious in the 2010 season finale. Leary and Greensburg’s Ronnie Combs also scored wins at Rushville last season.

Local drivers expected to compete include Chad Hankins and Will Wilson of Rushville, Connersville’s Brett Hankins and Morristown’s Brayton Leisure.

A strong crop of rookie drivers is expected to be on hand competing for the Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Race honors. Muncie’s Jake Moore (Shelbyville) and Seymour’s Cody Kiewitt (Twin Cities Raceway Park) were the winners at the first two races of the season.

Practice is scheduled for 5:00 pm, qualifications at 6:00 pm, and racing is set to begin at 7:00 pm with the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel. General admission is $8.00 (12 and over), children are $5.00, and 6 and under are free. Pit passes are $25.00
