You know our community (racing) is a very strong family, many of us know each other drivers, fans, and track personnel alike on a first name basis.

There has been so many tragic natural disasters recently that have left so many families with out homes, caused the loss of loved ones, among all the other horrible actualities that can be contributed to these events.

As a racing family and community, with one of our biggest weeks and weekends of the summer shaping up, we need to take a step back and do what we can to help these. I know times are tough, gas prices are high, and just getting to the track is hard enough these days. But we need to pull together, all the tracks, competitors, and fans, and do what we can to help those suffering due to this horrific events.

If each track were to take a minute during their nights events this weekend, and we come together as a whole to donate what we all can as a racing family to those in need I know it would be overwhelming the amount of support we can provide.

Just a thought.. I know I am not the only person who is sitting back looking at all that has happened wondering how can I help...

I think this is a great idea! Show that racers care. I encourage all the tracks to take part in this opportunity. Wouldn't it be great if they could all get together and make a contribution on behalf of all Indiana tracks? I hope that someone steps up quickly and makes this a reality.

Great thought...it would probably mean more to the fans if you and your fellow racers took your helmets up in the crowds. You guys are the reason they are their anyway..it would mean so much to the people who don't ever get to the other side of the track (the Pits) to meet you guys on a one on one basis and you would probably get a better response then just someone at the gate or track staff asking for donations.. just my two cents worth.

I'll be getting in touch with all the promoters tomorrow to try and ring lead this venture.. or find someone more qualified to do so if not myself..

Currently Dave & the MSCS gang are on board to participate at Lawrenceburg Speedway this coming weekend, as well as the crew at Tri-State Speedway Sunday at Haubstadt, I've spoken to Judy Miles at Bloomington and am currently awaiting a call back, as well as left a message for Joe Spiker in hopes to get LPS on board as well.

This could be a great way to show our support for those who have lost loved ones, their homes, and have little to nothing left to call their own anymore.

Please turn out this weekend and show your support for this great cause, as well as to see some great racing.. Can't wait to see everybody.

As I finalize everything I will release a flyer on here, facebook, and through other avenues of racing media at our disposal to spread the word.
