Having to be home in NY this past weekend while the Iceman and Crew were duking it out in Indiana, I sat with my latest issue of Flat Out Magazine (after finishing my "Honey-Do" list of course) for what turned out to be a good read.

The article Dean Mills published in a 1 on 1 interview with T-Mez turned out to be a pretty good read. T-Mez was very candid (shocker there for those that know him) about everything, including himself. He knows who he is, what his strength's are, what his weaknesses are and is not afraid to admit either. It takes a lot to assess yourself and be honest, especially when it is published to many but Thomas did just that. He also told of his very interesting path to Indy.

We have experienced both sides of the "Cali Kid". Thomas was a big help to us when Coleman, at just 13, competed in the Chili Bowl. He coached Coleman, helped with Car set up, and Coleman promptly went out and won his first ever Heat Race after starting 4th.

Then, Coleman's new found confidence found the wrong side of T-Mez after a couple of close "sliders" in a Midget race and a poor idea to pass in hot laps on a slick track at Kokomo a couple of years ago. Our youngster was still learning and T-Mez made sure he learned what was right and wrong after that. We found out that the 5' 7" feisty dude from Cali could really be a pain in the butt if you crossed him.

I had to smile several times reading the article because we have been on both sides with Thomas. Not knowing sometimes whether I want to Strangle him or Hug him, Thomas is a pretty good guy that is trying his best to make a name for himself in Indiana Racing. This article is a very good read if you want to understand this interesting fellow from California. Dean did a good job writing it and of course, T-Mez did a great job of telling how it is to be T-Mez. Good read. Well done.

Cheers,

Pete G.
