Lets put it this way after it rained for about an hour they should have called it. For those classes that got to hotlap (hornets and mini sprints did not) they started around 9:30. Mini sprints were told they would get a few hot laps before the start of the heat race since they did not get any, but when they got on the track they went green first time by. By the time the features ran for hornets and mini sprints (which started around 2:30 for these 2 classes) their features where shortened to 10 laps.
The pits were an absolute disater, with a bunch of people getting stuck on their way out and cars hardly able to get through to get onto the track and coming off to get to their pits
The track was real racey by the time heat races rolled in, and the best I have ever seen. The track personal did a good job getting the track ready to race but should have used common sence when they looked at the time and it was around 6:45 before they started thinking about getting the track ready. We got home about 5am like a lot of other people did!!!!! I can tell you we are not very happy with how it turned out. Posted via Mobile Device
We gave the option to just run a feature. I understand how late it was, but we werent forcing anyone to stay that didnt want to. Mother Nature has won way too many races this year and we thought we could get it in in a reasonable amount of time. Lesson learned last night. It was a mess for sure, but the track turned out VERY good after the slime was thrown off.
yes we were given the opition but at that time we had no idea that we would get no hot laps and our feature would be cut to 10 laps. If we would have known that, the decision might have been different. Yes Chriss the track turned out awesome and I loved it, wish it would be that more often. Posted via Mobile Device

Did that option to leave include getting their money refunded? If it didn't then it wasn't really an option to leave.
So no matter what they did, it was a no win situation with someone. As a fan of racing, I applaud them for making the effort to get the show in. I have sat at Haubstadt and waited over 2 hours for a rain delay, got home at 5:30 a.m., and did not complain about getting to see racing action on an amazingly fast track.
after being there for 5 hours when this opition was given, all of us just wanted to race and have a full program, we had no idea that it wuld be 11:30 area when we finally got on track and 3:00 for a feature.... Posted via Mobile Device
