Pretzel style front bumpers?

Just wonder what everyone thinks about the pretzel style front bumpers that are creeping into open wheel racing. I am sure they have been around for a while but I dont see many rules against them and seem the intent for anyone that wants to steer the guy in front of you out of the way is there if he want to use it.

Flea Ruzic from Race Bumpers.com invented the Pretzel bumper
He tells a somewhat entertaining story of how the invention came about We have used them in the past. The real advantage is the strength. You don't destroy the bumper every time you bump into something. The disadvantage is it does transfer the hit back into the frame. I don't believe it allows you to push someone around any more than a damaged single tube bumper that has a significant dent in the center Jeff |

If a guy wants to push you around, he'll do it even if he doesn't have a bumper.
