Who would have to initiate talks to get a SC race at Williams Grove, Selinsgrove, or Port Royal? Would USAC ever contact the track or does the track promoter have to contact USAC?

I saw them at Stafford Springs, and saw Bobby Santos win 50k. I saw them at Syracuse the last 2 times they ran there.I saw them at the Grove back in the early 80's. I also saw them run Nazareth. How much farther east do you want to go?
I don't think Seekonk is big enough, but they'd be fun to watch at Thompson. |

It is rumored tht Davey Hamilton is going to promote a mid week race at Oswego in August that will have Nascar and Indy car drivers at it. The race is suppose to benefit Eric Saunders and I have been hoping they would annouce Usac Silver Crown was coming back to Oswego to run this race.
As far as Siver Crown back at the Syracuse mile, I was also at the last two races ran there and would love to see them back there. However, two years ago the rumors were the mile was in jeopardy of becoming a casino only the fair doesn't have the money to implement the changes they would like to make. Just recently I read where the Neveda State Fair was going away after a 136 year run, they join Michigan as the only other state to no longer have a fair. How long will it be before other states follow suit and do away with their fairs to bring their state budgets under control putting great racing venues at risk of going away? I would also love to see the Silver Crown cars at Thompson as well as make the trip back out west to Phoenix. Are you listening USAC? Patti |

This is one thing i cannot understand. You have william grove, knoxville that could race the silver crown and the only time they {usac}
is when it is convince for them. The silver crown use to be the premier division for them. Not any more! |

I would like to see them try Bridgeport, NJ. The last race at Oswego was pretty exciting.

I couldn't care less about the pavement. I was referring to a dirt track race. And by East I mean Williams Grove, Selinsgrove, Port Royal, etc. A race in the 1980's does me no good obviously, Chris :-)

The problem is when you go east or back west towards Knoxville particularly, it is Winged Sprint Car Country. Crowds are not as good for a Champ Dirt Car Race in those areas of the country.

I think a lot of promoters aren't going to take chances on something new or different until the economy improves. Maybe in the future a Silver Crown race could be added to the Eastern Storm tour. I think the Grove would be the place to hold it. The Syracuse races were good, but it's a long way to tow for one race.
The PRA race at Stafford was a good show, love to see them return. Seekonk is an awesome midget track, probably too small for Silver Crown, but then again the ISMA supers put on a pretty good show there so who knows. If you live in New England and need a wingless midget fix, the group that used to race at Whip City Speedway are now known as the Dirt Midget Association, so far they have some shows at Big Daddy's Speedway in NH and hope to book more. Former Silver Crown car owner Skip Matzak has a couple of cars, one with 1971 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year Denny Zimmerman driving. DMAracing.org
