USA Raceway Season Opener Just Around The Corner

Kevin Montgomery TUCSON, Ariz. (March 4th, 2011) – The high flying fast action under the Saturday night lights is among us! Next Saturday night the dirt will fly at USA Raceway as the season opening celebration kicks off the official start of a brand new race season.

“Chargin” Charles Davis leads the class of American Sprint Car stars around the Southwest Center of Speed as he looks for his third consecutive championship aboard the Massey Motorsports Roush/Yates Ford while RJ Johnson sets out to win his first ASCS title.

Johnson, now aboard the familiar Bobby Martin owned Weiler Farms ride, will look for his first ASCS Championship. The second generation driver, who was on a hot streak at the end of last year winning a Western World preliminary feature, will have the help of six-time Arizona Sprint Car Champion Ricky “The Racer” Johnson in his corner.

“The Magic Man” Mike Martin picked up a win at Perris Auto Speedway in 2010 and will be back in 2011 for championship contention along with Josh Pelkey, , Andy Reinbold, 4-Time Champion “The Shermantor” Jeremy Sherman and Tucson’s Ronnie Clark.

The veterans “Bullet” Bob Ream, Tom Ogle, Bruce St. James and Nathan High will return to competition as will the three 2010 rookie contenders Dalten Gabbard, Brian Hossford and Justin Quinn.

The “Real Deal” Rick Ziehl, 3-Time ASCS Southwest Champion, will join fellow wing warrior Joshua Hodges in the non wing opening battle set for March 12th.

Isaac “The Great” Zaragoza terrorized the Factory Stock world with nine consecutive wins in 2010 on his way to his first USA Raceway Championship. The Factory Stock division can rest easy as Zaragoza will join fellow Factory Stock Champion Dusty Gauthier for a bout for the 2011 X-Mod Championship.

Gauthier, who won back to back USA Raceway Championships by winning the Factory Stock title in 2009 and the inaugural X-Mod title last year, will return to defend his championship and attempt for a third consecutive USA Raceway Championship.

The excitement continues to build for USA Raceway's 2011 season. With March 12th just around the corner and USA Raceway continuing its trend of becoming one of the nations premier short tracks, race fans will not want to miss any of the action.

While more than 30 events grace the 2011 schedule one would think it may be hard to top the 2010 season! With great optimism promoters of USA Raceway created a 2011 schedule that may do just that. The 2011 race season will be headlined by ASCS Wing Sprint Cars, ASCS Non Wing Sprint Cars, USRA Western Modifieds and the Total Seal Late Model Series.

Season and Suite Access Passes will allow race fans to get all the action at an unheard of low cost. Season Passes are on sale for only $249 and $199 for Seniors, Students and Military thus dropping admission prices to under $8 per event. Suite Access Passes will allow race fans the opportunity to enjoy the races from USA Raceway's VIP Suite. Enjoy the races in luxury! Suite Access Passes are now on sale for only $399

USA Raceway is set to kick off the 2011 season when ASCS Non Wing Sprint Cars open the show on March 12th. The season opener will start the 2011 points battle for the Factory Stocks, X-Modifieds and ASCS2 Micro Sprints. General admission tickets will go on sale at 4pm and racing will begin promptly at 6:45pm.

There will be an opportunity for race fans to get a preview of the 2011 racers at an open practice slated for March 11th. The festivities will kick off at 6:00pm with grandstand admission free for all those who want a sneak preview.
