The following is a short clip of the annaul BARC/Hoffman Racing Fish Fry held at the Hoffman's farm in Loveland (Cincninnati) Ohio. Notables who attended were, obviously, Richard and "Racerrob" Hoffman, Greg Staab, Dave Rose (Pete's brother), Chuck Nungester (blue and white IRL jacket), "itsanonwingthing" Keith Wendel, 700WLW's Dennis Neal, car owners Norm "Turtle" Miller and Glenn Gresham #6, Former driver and modified car owner John Mugavin (Shane's father), former driver Mike Bowling, active drivers Steve Bixler, Nick Nabor, Brad Stevens (and others). Roughly 100 people attended. The fish was prepared and fried by former Lawrenceburg driver Denny Harris and crew. Denny is also the father of champion modified driver Jeff "Suitcase" Harris. Jeff is a regular at Lawrenceburg. The video starts out with Greg Staab taking a spin in a V8-85 flat head Ford powered sprint car built by Josh Shaw. Immediately after the sprint car scene, you can hear Dick Hoffman dicussing the upcoming 700WLW racing talk show with me. The 2008 version of the Hoffman sprint cars is at the end of the clip. This is my first time trying this youtube stuff so, hopefully it works.

I'm sorry I missed it for the second year in a row:thumbsdown:. Last year it was the flu, and this year I was out of town. And I only live about 20 - 25 minutes away!

Al,

Josh Shaw built that car in about 2 months as a Christmas present for his father. Josh is a former Lawrenceburg modified driving champion and has done design work for Boyd Coddington. A very talented and clever person.

Thanks Cecil 98/Craig (?),

It really puts everything in perspective.

a) The Indy Cars on the Wall. I really think that's what is in everybodys heart. That's what it's
all about.

b) The old midget with reverse.

1) The country setting.

c) The two new Tide/Hoffman sprint cars.

d) And for me that Vogler car in the background is what it is all about. That is precious.

Thanks again,

Larry Otani

P.S. Someday aux lighting and a hand held mic. You are in the TV business now.
Time to step it up...LOL!:O:

LarryO, actually I'm a little disappointed in the video. I could've done a lot better job but, I got tired of baby-sitting the camera and trying to catch up with old friends and tape at the same time so I didn't do as much as I could've. I also have movie editing software that I could've used to label "who was who" etc. actually on the video. I won't be so lazy and selfish the next time I do something like this. BTW, that old black midget, sittting between the two Tide cars, has quite a history to it. It was the "Hyde Park Lumber Spl". An Indy 500 winner drove it (Troy Ruttman) and, Eddie Sachs and Bobby Ball drove it also. The old black car Staab was driving at the beginning of the video is home made. The body was layed up and the frame built by Josh Shaw but, the engine/drive line is authentic "antique" Ford. I can't remember what year Ford from which Josh told me it all came. It has a Champ Car sized wheelbase. Anyway, I'm glad you got some enjoyment out it, Larry!!!! Craig Stevens
