I need your help Dwight.
Who's in the 31? The lettering is a little odd, and it looks like Jim Angeloff, but I can't seem to find any record of him in URC.

The URC books have no mention of Jim Angeloff. The car looks as if it could have been a Mataka Bros. 3n1 at one time. With the cage and no wing it had to have been '69 or '70 if a URC event. I was doing my Beetle Bailey imitation from '67 to '70 and saw no URC events during that time. Sorry.

Al, are you sure that is a URC event? The 66 looks like Ralph Quarterson from Western Pa.(on edit) Quarterson did run an occasional URC race during that time, usually when the club ventured west to Bedford and the like. He even picked up a URC win at Bedford on August 15th, 1970 but that was in the Fiore Chevy.

Hey - I actually know this one. The 66 is the Harry Fletcher Sprinter, and that is Johnny Grumm. It is the same car in which he won the 150 Lap Williams Grove Open. Yes, the Grove Open was 150 laps back then.

I remember those 150 lappers. Gordon Johncock won one of those in, IIRC, 1963.

The 31 is in fact Jim Angeloff. He ran his own operation on the Central PA circuit in the late 60's, early 70's. His best year appears to be 72, when he finished 9th in points at Susquehanna.
