I hate the term " Non-Winged sprint cars", call them sprint cars.

Not sure how this series is going take off. To me sounds like they are biting off a little more than they can chew. UMSS is just getting their winged 360 program going averaging 15-20 cars a show and now toss in a nonwinged program. Sure will be interesting.

it would be better like the MTS to call them traditional sprint cars. i agree with Vukie. there are sprint cars and then there are winged sprints. someone did one hell of a job years ago of promoting wing sprints as the norm. Ted?

I gotta agree, why not call them real race cars, or traditional sprints, first things first, sprint cars, then later, wanged cars, in Indiana, a sprint car doesn't have a wang! I know, it's gonna cause friction, but facts is facts, and history is history, and tradition is tradition, and it is what it is, we've won 2 wars, and several "police actions", but most of todays generation, are not being taught "history", I'm not sure what they teach nowadays. Unfortunately, here in Minnesota, where we haven't had Traditional Sprint Car racing since the early 70's, fans hear "Sprint Car" and expect to see Wings.

The initial response to this new class has greatly exceeded the expectations of the UMSS & looks to have car counts rivaling the UMSS's Winged races.

The driving force behind the interest in this class is the use of a Midwest Mod (B-Mod) engine & happens to coincide with the decision of the regional mod sanction to require all MWMods to run a 3 link rear suspension, requiring expensive changes to many, if not most, of the existing cars. Estimated cost with a used motor & used roller is about $10,000.

Wish there was a better term to use than Non-Wing, but outside of Indiana, most Sprint Cars run Wings.
