I see many threads on here from time to time about "why doesn't xyz series have television exposure" this article explains in fairly good detail just how some of that process works. I've worked in radio/television since I was 17 and can tell you it is a risky venture and there is enormous capital put upfront to try to just get it off the ground. Also, this gentleman is producing a racing show filmed out of Terre Haute (yes it's drag racing sorry to disappoint)

I take it you work at WTVW out of Evansville? If so, they own the other station in town where I work......I don't actually call them competition since they are not any. I worked here since I was 17 also.

I did for about 4 years - I started on air when I was 17 in radio in southern illinois - then worked for the state of Illinois in public relations - then the local abc affiliate there doing some on air field reporting and sales work. I moved to Evansville in 99 and worked for an ad agency (Keller crescent) for 4 years then sold radio for a year with clear channel then worked for 3 with Warner Brothers television - 4 years with FOX and just moved to Indy in feb of this year. I handle major and regional accounts for cumulus (WFMS WJJK and i94).....however you work for one publicly held company they're all the same. So are you at WTHI or WTWO?

WTHI, since April 12, of 2001. Started part time until 2004, then in 2005, I got full time. Went to Vincennes University got my A.A.S. in Broadcasting in 2004. I tried to get jobs in Indianapolis five different jobs (P.A. at WISH twice and once at RTV6 {RTV6 I flat out told the guy I couldn't work for the money they were offering and didn't get offered the WISH ones}), twice at WISH for Master Control. I took that as saying that I need to stay where I had seniority and a good job. Terre Haute isn't bad and Indianapolis doesn't pay as good as you would think.
