The scenes are from the 1950 film, To Please a Lady, starring Clark Gable and Barbara Stanwyck.

I have a VHS of To PLEASE a Lady. There is a lot of good race footage in the film, which actually isn't too bad of a movie. I've also watched The Big Wheel, which starred Mickey Rooney, who most folks alive today have never heard of. Some good race footage, but not that great of a film.

At one point, he was photographed watching the start of the race from Tony Hulman's private box in turn one. So, wonder where Days of Thunder got their ideas? |
