This was taken at St Petersburg, Fl my dad this before they went to the track, Red change the number on the car from 19 to 78, in pic #2 you can see Red painting the hood with Maude watching over. Dick Gaines was a member of IMCA and IMCA members was band from racing at some tracks. That night at St Pete Dick won the A main under the name Shagg Barrows. the next day they wash the paint off the car changing the number back to 19. later that day they went to Tampa and won the IMCA race.

that's freakin awesome. i'll bet maude still has that scarf.lol ole red was a hell of a mechanic and thee man when it came to degreeing in a cam. since he had no kids i was always his little buddy.

yeah Red was a great guy, I lived just three houses down from Red and Vivan, I was down there all the time.

woodrow, i just talked to maude and she remembered your dad. she said he liked to joke around a lot. lol calvin gilstrap showed me how to throw pocket knives at red's tree in the front yard. stayed at red's many times.
