I think pretty much where ever you go, you can't get away from the ASCS 360 taking over sprint car racing, be it winged or non-winged. I'm not saying the 410 is going away. In fact, it might become stronger than one could ever imagine. Strange things happen for strange reasons, which we cannot explain. I think it's called tradition and as an American we are very traditional. Thank God we still have our pride. It goes a long way in establishing guide lines to follow, generations to come.

But since it is envitable that the ASCS will take over California, like it has the country, with the likes of just about anybody famous in any sprint car organization competing, what tire shall they run? Which tire would you run on a traditional, 360 non-wing sprinter?

Many people say on this board and just about any board talking about racing that the tire you select is the most expensive part of racing. They control the tires and how many in the WoO and even in Nascar. Everybody has figured it out finally, except when it comes to sprint car racing. They haven't figured it out yet.

One racer implied the Hoosier SC25 was good tire. Here's the link:

But I ask you what tire would be the best for the ASCS 360 non-wing sprint car racing in California. The one thing that will kill racing in California is if they cannot come into aggreement on which tire to run on a ASCS 360 non-wing sprinter. I think there is about three trains of thought and if those three racing organizations/promoters cannot come into agreement sprint car racing will loose and so will many promoters in California. It appears the tire issue...ie...the compound is the one thing that will grow racing in California or kill it once and for all.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani

If ASCS is the sanction, is there a reason to think the ASCS tire (the Hoosier 16" wide Medium) won't be what's mandated? Isn't that what they're using in the Canyon region?
