Tradition returns to Grundy County Speedway!
Short Track Auto Racing Series (STARS) is proud to welcome the Illini Racing Series (IRS) to the Saturday night racing program at Grundy County Speedway.
The IRS Midget autos will compete under the lights on selected Saturday nights with the STARS National Series Midget cars and the Dwarf “Classic Modified” cars.
“With the STARS group now leading the Grundy County Speedway Saturday night events, our organization sees an opportunity to again enjoy racing at this fun track” says LaVerne Spencer from the IRS. “I see great credibility in the group that is putting this together; they have many fresh ideas that can make this exciting and fun for everyone.”
“One of our first goals was to invite IRS to participate in our new Saturday night program” stated Joe Kirkeeng from STARS. “The IRS has done a great job with their series. They have established an economical and level playing field for their participants. They have also maintained a loyal fan base.”
