I am in the market for a new jack for sprint car racing, and am curious as to what most are using and what seems to be the best bang for the buck .. thank you

I've had good luck the the cheapest aluminum racing jack from Harbor Freight (small blue one). I think I paid $80 and it's lasted 3 years so far.

thanks for your reply ... I actually looked at that one, but had some thoughts as to if it would hold up ... I have heard you can get a 20% off coupon from there as well ... any others care to share what they use and how they like it ?? thank you

I've had a Harbor Freight jack for 7 years & have no complaints. Kid keeps using it to work on his Suburban & hasn't hurt it YET.
Figured that for the price of a "real" race jack I could buy 2 or 3 from Harbor!

I got one of the 3,000# Harbor Frieght aluminum jacks (the silver one) in spring of 2005 and have used it pretty regularly ever since with abosolutely no problems. My jack maintenance program includes a twice a year spray at the carwash and nothing else.

Have not had one bit of trouble with it. Cost $119 or $139 back then and i have seen them cheaper since then.

I've got a 1.5 ton Harbor Freight jack that we used for our stock car & now our sprint car. Only thing I would look at is the maximum lift height of the ones you look at. You want it to lift high enough to get onto your stands. We built our own stands, and I made sure I didn't make them taller than my jack would lift. I think the small blue jack was several inches shorter lift than mine.

We have also had to rebuild ours once. Not any problem. Just replaced o-rings and good as new.

Used my gold Harbor Freight Jack for 8 years now. Works great and has never let us down. Best bargain for the buck without question.

I've had a silver harbor frieght jack now for 3 years. The only thing I would recomend doing is swapping out every nut on it you can with Nylock nuts.

I've had 2 of the silver one's for about 4yrs now, one stays in the trailer, and the other in the shop, one from Harbor Freight, don't remember where I got the other one, but they are just alike. Arron's right, them danged things will come apart, just sitting still, so make sure you pull maint on them also. Both of mine leak down, so you can't fool around about getting a jackstand under them, even changing tires, but, now that I know that, we just watch em, and keep on using them, a little gear lube on the roller, and swivel wheels helps a bunch also. Sure beats that 200 pounder I used a long time ago! Bob:2:
