Just received my Indianapolis 500 tickets!! I've been to every one since 1965, and even though it has lost some of its glamour, it is still my favorite event.

Wow that's impressive! I thought my grandparents had a good streak when they went 21 consecutive years.

Speaking of tickets, I didn't think I would have the time off work this year to go, but due to a rearranged work schedule I will be able to attend. Unfortunately, I did not order tickets, thinking I had to work. If anyone has extra tickets (3 together) for sale, or knows of someone who does, I would be interested in buying them. Preferably in the turn 1, short chute or turn 2 outside stands, upper half of stands. I checked the IMS website, all the available tickets are in the lower portions of the stands. I checked several other websites such has stubhub and the tickets are brutal. (start at $300 and up!) Not in the budget for that price. Anyway, thanks in advance for any heads up you can give me. :thumb

For my money the best seats in the house are on the roof in section E. But you can never get those. Try to get a seat in the turn that allows you a view of one of the long straights and a short chute. No where else will you see more of the track. If you like to watch pit stops then the main straight is the only place to sit. Most good seats that are available are in the $95 range.

Hi Bill,
The link you provided (south terrace) are seats on the inside of the track. I've sat there several times on practice days. They are ok for the price but sitting on the outside of the track provides a much better view. Sitting on the inside you see basically what's going by right in front of you. On the outside you see a great deal more.

Bill, we have had the same tickets in four for many years, arround 3/4 the way up. They have been 85$ per ticket for the last few years. We can see the turn 3 and 4 and most of the front. But I had a bud that went last year that got tickets in the infield about race time for 20$, said he could see most of the turn and had a blast.

I went for the first time last year and loved it!! Even with the rain it was an awsome experience. My uncle has tickets in Turn 4 first row!! I can see 3, 4, and most of the front straight. THose cars a very impressive to see. First lap is someting every race fan should experience once! Hope I can snag one again this year, he wouldnt let me pay for it since it was my first year, so I have no idea what they cost. I just bought him his program, tshirt, and collectors hat pin. $50 for me I think...
