One of my memories of watching racing before I was a fan was watching Saturday night Thunder on ESPN with my Grandpa (my family didn't have cable so if we were there, I watched it if he was). About 9pm ish I got the call saying my Grandpa (who had been on the rehab floor at the hospital) was in ICU. I sent out a few emails and posted on a few websites asking for prayers. About five minutes after posting those and sending the emails my phone rang and it was my dad....I had a bad feeling that was confirmed that my Grandpa had died.....maybe in a way, the prayer was answered since he wasn't the same person I wanted to remember and the pain he was in is now gone.

Adam, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Keep those memories nearby and never let them fade, in the end they are all we have.
I too remember going over to my grandparents house before we had cable, watching all my favorite shows, including Thunder. |
