UMRA Returns to Greensburg on Saturday
By Alex Wollf The 50th anniversary season of the Dutch Mill Buffet UMRA TQ Midgets continues on Saturday night with the “Fan Appreciation Race” at the Decatur County Fairgrounds in Greensburg. It will mark the second appearance of the 2010 for the UMRA at Greensburg with Ron Combs taking the win at his hometown track during the Decatur County Fair on July 9. In the September race at Greensburg in 2009 Terry Goff took his seventh win of a season where he captured his 14th series championship. The always entertaining winged and non-winged micros will also be on the racing card at Greensburg on Saturday night. Last year in winged micro action at Greensburg, Ryan Langston took the win in a dominant performance. The drivers at Greensburg will be going after a pair of contingency awards on Saturday night. The “Tony Stewart Rookie Challenge” will award $50 to the highest finishing rookie. The G&G Oil “Hard Charger of the Race” will award five gallons of fuel to the driver who advances the most positions in the feature. The youngsters will want to get their parents to bring them to the races on Saturday as a lucky fan will win a brand new kids bike. The season is winding down and time is running out to improve points positions so the action on the track will be intense. Gates open at three, practice is at 5:30, qualifying at six, and racing is scheduled to begin at seven. Top Ten in UMRA Points (After Seventeen Races) 1. Terry Goff 2452 2. Jason Goff 2138 3. Rain has all but stopped now. Just a few light sprinkles occasionally. Had a good shower earlier but should be OK. Radar looks like this is the end of it. If the sun comes out, should be great!
