Dobson Dominates; Bell Doubles Up in Labor Day Finale!!!

Cody Morris, TULSA, OK (September 4 2010 ) - Approximately 60 Lucas Oil ASCS2 competitors took to the lightning fast high banks of Port City Raceway for a Labor Day Weekend Finale in front of a packed house of Tulsa area race fans. A beautiful Tulsa evening welcomed the dominant displays of Hulbert, Oklahoma's Karley Kay Dobson and Norman, Oklahoma's Christopher Bell.

The winning duo also gave Fort Worth, Texas area race fans something extra to look forward, as both sit within 5 points of current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw and Restricted point leaders.

Christopher Bell would draw the pole for the 30 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event, and deliver an absolutely outstanding performance in what was perhaps the most dominant 30 laps of Lucas Oil ASCS2 action to date in the Outlaw division.

Bell immediately gunned into the lead and navigated lapped traffic in flawless fashion, overpowering the field on both the top and bottom of the bullring, taking his 2nd victory of the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw campaign by a full straightaway aboard the KMK Enterprises, Ruston Racing and Development, Sawyer Chassis, Millenium Roofing, Home Creations, and Sleeper Graphics sponsored red and black no. 21.

Current Lucas Oil ASCS2 point leader by way of Sapulpa, Oklahoma Blake Hahn trailed Bell for the duration of the 30 lapper, and despite a spirited effort on the famous Port City Raceway cushion, Hahn would settle for runner up honors.

Pryor, Oklahoma native Frank "The Legendary" Flud would work his way from his outside third row starting position to accept show position honors after a furious 3 way battle with eventual 4th and 5th place finishers Zach Alley and Kevin Bayer. Blake Hahn and Scott Sawyer topped heat race action over the 17 car field.

Bell trails Hahn by a mere 4 points in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship Chase with only October and November Cowtown Speedway action remaining in the 2010 campaign. A Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw runner up in 2008, "The Legendary" Flud will enter the Texas two step a manageable 53 points off the lead pace.

As perfect weather and outstanding wheel to wheel action greeted Lucas Oil ASCS2 and Port City Raceway fans, so too did Christopher Bell. A second time. And few will ever forget it. Bell gave hint to his intentions of Outlaw perfection by first delivering an outstanding run in the 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma's young gun Trey Marcham paced the field to the initial start, but would succomb to a Jordan Herrman move early in the second circuit. Following a pair of Josiah McGinnis spins, Herrman and Bell would exchange the lead off each turn for nearly 3 laps before contact between the two would ultimately send Herrman into the turn 4 wall with Bell narrowly escaping damage in the incident.

Bell would keep his mount rolling and move on to dominate the remaining 16 laps of the 25 lap Non Wing main event. Bell's nemesis in 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Championship Chase, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma's Steven Shebester, would move into the runner up spot by the 15th lap and close the gap between himself and the leader.

Shebester would shadow Bell over the final 5 circuits, but fail to mount serious offense as Bell would move on to his impressive 8th Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event triumph of the 2010 campaign aboard his KMK Enterprises, Ruston Racing and Development, Sawyer Chassis, Milleium Roofing, Home Creations, and Sleeper Graphics sponsored no. 21 Non Wing mount.

Entering the Labor Day Weekend finale 2nd in Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing points, Shebester would settle for the same in the feature event, with Chris Cochran, Alex Sewell, and Darrien Roberts completing the top 5 running order of the ferocious 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event.

Bell's pivotal Port City performance would vault the young star into a very sizeable 85 point margin over Shebester in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Championship Chase, with Oklahoma City native Shelby Byrd third, 226 markers behind Bell's lead pace.

After seeing her string of 12 consecutive Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted podium finishes come to an end following a 4th place showing in the previous evenings' main event, Hulbert, Oklahoma's Karley Kay Dobson reloaded for the weekend finale and turned in an extremely impressive performance of the challenging Port City bullring.

Jaron James led the field to the initial green flag of the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Main Event, but it would be Dobson taking lap 2 command.

Withstanding a couple of stoppages midway in the event, Dobson would switch to the low side late and take a 4 car length advantage at the final stripe aboard the ever familiar Momo's Racing Engines, Bill's Body Shop, JPM, Stallard Chassis, Best Graphics, Crescent Valley Jamboree, J&J Powedercoating, and Dobson Automotive Specialists pink and black no. 28. Karley would also like to thank her mother and father, as well as the Morton's, Wisely's, and Frank Flud for their contributions to her 2010 racing endeavors.

The win marked Dobson's 2nd Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted score of the 2010 campaign, and although her streak of podium finishes ended at 12 on Friday night, her streak of top 5 performances still stands tallest at 14.

Polesitter Jaron James ultimately settled for runner up honors with previous evening's winner Dalton Wisely earning show position honors. West Plains, Missouri's current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted point leader Logan Martin and Chance Morton completed the top 5 running order.

Continuing a trend that began in Lucas Oil ASCS2 Port City Raceway action in June, Karley Kay Dobson has taken what was once a 120+ point deficit to Logan Martin and transformed it into virtually nothing. Dobson will enter October’s Cowtown Sprint Nationals trailing Martin by a mere 2 points in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Championship Chase, with Dalton Wisely currently 3rd in that chase, 105 points off the lead pace.
