John Willman finishes third in Big Diamond Points.

John Willman completed the 2010 points season at Big Diamond Raceway, Minersville Pa, with a third place finish in the season long points race at the 3/8 mile clay oval. “To finish third in point’s shows the consistency of our race car and the Willman Floyd race team,” said John, “I’m real pleased with this.” Willman drives the #74W Bicknell, Lombardo powered 358 dirt modified.
The point’s season started on April 2nd at Big Diamond with John finishing in third position on opening night. On the season the blue and yellow colored E/Z Release Pro Shop car recorded 13 top ten finishes. “We finish races,” said the Birdsboro Pa driver, “on evenings when I had trouble, my crew got me back out on the track and that season long hard work gave us this third place finish.” This past week on Friday August 27th Willman recorded a ninth place finish in the 25-lap 358 modified feature.
Next weekend, Willman plans on driving the Warren Floyd #8jr sportsman race car at the Friday September 3rd Coalcracker 50-lap championship race. ‘I ran Warren’s car one time earlier this year and felt good in it, I know I can run up front with it so we’ll give it our best try and go for the $2,000 top prize.” Then on Sunday September 5th Willman will race his Hammer Bowling ball, Bowl Grill Restaurant #74w in the $10,000 to win Coalcracker 100-lap feature event. “A top five finish is what I want” stated John.
In Saturday night action at Grandview Speedway, Bechtelsville Pa, Willman enters this evenings action in fifth place in the season long points race with three weeks remaining in the NASCAR Whelen racing series season. “It’s been an uphill battle the last few weeks at Grandview, My crew and I are working our rear ends off every Saturday night down there and finishing races but the heat races have been very difficult.” Being 5th in points Willman starts in the last row in the heat race weekly with only 5 of the 12 cars qualifying. For the season John has recorded 12 top ten finishes, with the highlight being a victory on opening day. Willman is looking forward to the biggest small block modified race of the year the Freedom 76, scheduled for Saturday September 18th offering $20,000 to win.
Consistency has been the name of the game this season for Willman. He has recorded 26 top ten finishes in 43 races. Hopefully he can continue this trend to the end of the season.
