Ok this isnt a Sprint Car post, but is racing related. I have never seen a race attempted like this before in my life, but Mooney Starr at Batesville is going to put on a race next May where the SECOND place finisher will make more than the winner. Heres how it will break down. $150,000 purse, both FIRST and FIFTH place will receive $10,000 but heres the kicker. Here is the top ten payout.
1. $10,000
2. $20,000
3. $12,000
4. $11,000
5. $10,000
6. $6,000
7. $4,000
8. $3,500
9. $3,250
10. $3,000
If you are in the lead with five laps to go, what would you do? Would you let off? Ive seen some crazy crap attempted in Late Models but this takes the cake.

"I love racing. I would do this even if I didn't get paid for it." How many times have we heard something like this. Drivers who say that the important thing is winning, not the money. When I see someone excited about winning a big race, I absolutely believe them. The thrill of victory is a potent brew. This race will put it to the test, and $10,000 and a big trophy is nothing to sneeze at. We have a lot of posts on here about promoters and promotions, I think whoever thought this one up gets the prize. I don't know about everyone else, but I would certainly be interested in being there in person to see that last five laps. I'll bet that there are a lot of people around Batesville, and many more who are not close, who will go to see.
