Yahoo maps says take Hwy 50 all the way through Illinois and into Indiana

Surely, that's a bunch of red lights through small towns

I was thinking 64, then cut up through Jasper and on up

Never been, looking forward to adding Brownstown to my list of tracks

Any other pertinent B'town info would be good... places to eat before the races? Do they allow coolers?

If you are coming over I-64 you might be better off staying on it to Louisville and taking I-65 north to Seymour. Exit 50 which happens to be Highway 50 West to Brownstown. Only about 9 miles from Seymour. It would be interstate all the way except the last 9 miles and that is good road to Brownstown. They do allow coolers at Brownstown, but I am not sure about alcoholic beverages.

Coolers are allowed just no glass bottles of any kind. We do confiscate them or have you take them back to your car.

If you do come I-64 you might also want to think about exiting off at Corydon (not sure on exit number) its maybe about 10 or 15 miles west of Louisville on 64 and taking Highway 135 north. It'll save you a few miles and a few minutes probably instead of going the extra miles to Louisvile and then the 10 or so miles going back west to Brownstown from Seymour. Been that way many of times from Brownstown and back to and its not a bad little drive. I think you'll hit 5 stop lights before Brownstown...2 in Corydon right at the overpass over I-64...1 in New Salisbury....1 in Palmyra....and 1 in Salem. Corydon is about 45 minuntes (give or take a few) from Brownstown. Brings you right to Highway 50. Once at Hwy 50 just take a turn to the right and continue straight on through the stop light in Brownstown by Hucks, Circle K, Jackson County Bank, and CVS. That'll be Hwy 250 and bring you right to the track/fairgrounds which will be to your left.

Forgot to mention....limited food choices in Brownstown....there is McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Subway, Snappy Tomato Pizza Buffet, Fleetwoods Pizza, and the mexican buffet. They also sell some real good fried chicken at the Jay C grocery store in town to.

I take I-70 to Terre Haute exit, Indiana SR 46. SR 46 to Bloomington, 37 south to Bedford, 50 east to Brownstown.
May be faster or longer than I-64, I don't know, I've never gone that way.

The 64 rt is definately faster. Id say do the 264 to fifty route. Weekday I-70 truck traffic is killer and they get beside each other and run the same speed for miles on end till someone gets past the other 64 is wide open.

If you do go 64 to 265 to 65, the speed limit on 64 drops from 70 to 55 at Georgetown. There have been a lot of troopers that work through there so be careful.

Not to mention the total lack of any facilities on I64, unless you exit, it has been a while since I traveled that rd, but it was desolate. Bob

I would have to agree with I 64 to the Corydon exit. Taking 135 North, takes you straigt to Brownstown, turn left on 50 and its a straight drive right to the speedway.
