First met Paul ten years ago. Hadn't seen him in like five years during Sprint Week. I didn't realize that he had cancer. He was a good, fun loving guy. RIP PW.

RIP PW, I imagine you having one hell of a time up there with our late racing and rock n roll heroes. Crank up the Motorhead in honor of PW!!!

This is a message board for MOPAR collectors in PW's memory. It expresses the love so many felt for the Man.

Steve, thanks for posting the link. Reading the comments of Paul's friends from the Mopar world, I can see that his impact was the same as in racing circles. He was a delightful guy, a genuine character who pursued with a powerful passion the things he loved. He was as easy to get to know as anyone I've ever met...straightforward, sincere, honest, caring, genuine.

Good 'ol PW...I can think of so many memories, and so many fun times that he was right in the middle of. I remember one weekend during the TNN days when we carpooled from Eldora back to where the crew was staying in Piqua. We made several detours and did a bunch of sightseeing, what a great couple of days.

Paul had such an easy smile, and a zest for life. If you pissed him off he could get pretty vocal, but he would get over it quickly and soon was back to the happy, easy guy we all loved.

If there is one thing I detest about growing older, it's the fact that more and more of the people I know and love are no longer with us. The losses over the past couple of years have been particularly painful...Chuck Amati, Larry Rice, Mutt Anderson, my stepfather Joe Elsey, Jesse Hockett, Wayne Leary, and several others. Each was an important friend to me, someone for whom I feel a keen sense of loss when I think of them.

Ben Stein said, "When you lose someone you love, the damage is permanent. It is as if there were a brick wall right in front of your door. But eventually, there is ivy on the brick, and after that, there are roses. It will happen."

As time passes the grief of losing Paul will diminish, replaced by the pleasant roses of fond memories. But today there is just the brick wall at the door.
