Just thought I would put this up for everyone to check out. This is a whole new look for Quarter Midget racers to check out. "Quarter Midgets of America" (QMA) runs three National events per year, East, West, and Dirt Grand Nationals.
The Eastern Grands are going on right now at the famous Mini-Indy speedway at the Fairgrounds, and will finish Saturday with the A-Mains for all classes. This is a live feed for you to view the racing live. They start around 9:00 am and stop around 10:00 pm. They have around 550 cars signed in for this event, not bad considering they came from all over the country to be here. This is by far the greatest family sport out there if you like racing. If you are interested in this sport for your family go to www.quartermidgets.org http://quartermidgets.org/Grands-Inf...ive%20Feed.asp |

And another awesome event is the USAC .25 races at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway Starting next Wednesday and running thru Saturday. USAC calls this event the "Battle at the Brickyard"
The admission is free for anyone wanting to come and watch and you couldn't ask for a better place to watch a Quarter Midget race than at the Speedway. Racers from all over the country will be there to battle with the best racers in Quarter Midget racing. You will see many of the new innovations to the sport of Quarter Midget racing that USAC has pioneered first hand. For more details check out USAC's website at http://www.usacracing.com/quarter_midgets.html Come out see the racers that will be the future of open wheel racing. Some of these kids are already running in the USAC Young Guns Focus Series.

Hopefully this USAC deal is way better than the program at the Speedrome, which is more than boring and only has a few cars running around "cones".

These are animal motors at the speed drome first or second year for them and a new class for the .25 series. This is susposed to let you purchase one motor and by changing the restrictor plate run all the classes.

Congrats to Mini-Indy for what has appeared to be a phenominal Grands event.....part of me wishes we had been there running our Stanley '07 cars. Unfortunately there would be no way in hell my kid could fit in them even if we still had them. And again....a job well done by our old racing friends at Mini-Indy when many were predicting there was no way they could pull it off, especially when they were being under-minded by some .25 folks that were trying to steal their club from them. |

The quarter midget races at the speedrome is more about promoting the sport and to work with the kids on many fronts. They interviewed every kid that raced. This is another great experience for the USAC quarter midget racers to learn how to speak in front crowds.
As for the Wednesday car counts it is very tough for most people to make the haul to the speedrome on a weeknight. It works good for some as they can run focus and qms at the same event. Posted via Mobile Device |
