UMRA Heads to Montpelier Saturday Night
By Alex Wollf The 50th anniversary season of the Dutch Mill Buffet UMRA TQ Midgets continues on Saturday night at the Montpelier Motor Speedway if Mother Nature will finally cooperate. Saturday’s race was supposed to be the third of the season at Montpelier but heat races on May 8 have served as the only on-track action of 2010 at the track for the UMRA due to those pesky rain showers. Following the 2010 edition of the Rushville Nationals, this year honoring the memory of the legendary Crocky Wright, the hottest driver on the circuit is 1989 and 2005 series champion Ron Combs who swept the annual Friday and Saturday races held during the Rush County Fair in his Tony Stewart owned #50. However, as the season nears the midway point, veterans like 14-time UMRA champion Terry Goff and rising stars like third-place point man Robbie Roland are eager to start a run towards a possible championship in 2010. There should be enough fireworks on the track at Montpelier this Independence Day Weekend to yield plenty of “Oohs” and “Ahhs” from the crowd watching the exciting brand of action that the Dutch Mill Buffet UMRA TQ Midgets provide night in and night out. Gates open at 4 PM on Saturday, practice is at 6, and racing is set to roll of at 7! Top Ten In UMRA Points (After Seven Races) 1. Terry Goff 1082 6. Michael Koontz 805 2. Ron Combs 983 7. Doug Roland 805 3. Robbie Roland 914 8. Trent Henderson 755 4. Jason Goff 873 9. Patrick Wolf 699 5. Brandon Gray 830 10. Jeremy Rainwater 673 |

Is there going to be a make up feature from May 8th? I know the lineup was set and it was going to be made up May 22nd, but its been over a month since then. Also, what kind of car count can we expect to see with MTQRL at Shelbyville? I've stated my opinion on this split BS and I'm wondering what impact it will have this Saturday. I'm going anyway.
