Usac has canceled the race!

Duke,

The only reason that USAC would cancel a race this far in advance is...

1) The promoter wanted out of his contract with USAC.

2) The promoter failed to meet his contractual obligations to USAC, like posting the purse to USAC by the date noted in the contract. Remember, USAC pays out the money to the competitors. If USAC doesn't have the $$, it can't run the race and pay the competitors.

race is not cancelled. postponed til later in the season per Illiana website & USAC website.

In the press release they mention scheduling conflicts. I wonder what type of conflicts they are talking about? Nothing else on the schedule from what I can see unless they have some type of problem with NASCAR drivers who were going to participate. I was really looking forward to this race.

usac is the promoter! Just like raceway park! They have been promoting some of there races!

I called friends in Northern Indiana last week (they are also racefans) and the event was news to them.... which shows you how promotion was going.......

I thought that was a bad date to begin with. The day before Sprint Week starts is hard on teams (those that do both) and fans. Sprint Week isn’t cheap even if you are just driving back and forth to each track. Hard to shell out more money on top of that. Hope they find another date.

I thought the same thing when the schedules came out. I hope it goes off eventually though.
